Nothing at all. Just be excited and look forward to doing something a little bit different. All we need is a small space in your home or office, large enough for a fitness mat with space for you to move around and for your trainer to work alongside you demonstrating the exercises.
The workout element of the session is 20 minutes. Before starting the routine, your personal trainer will have chat through how you are feeling and what you would like to achieve on the day. In total, the session should take no longer than 40 minutes. For an introductory session we allow an hour to make sure we understand all about you, your goals and aspirations to make sure the session and future sessions are tailor made to your needs.
Your EVO workout will be led by a personal trainer. Before your sessions starts you need to wear an undersuit designed to conduct the electrical impulses. Your trainer will then show you how to wear the special EMS suit. It is then a simple matter of connecting you to the EMS device and your training can begin. If you choose to continue with an EMS training programme you will be supplied with your own undersuit which has a one off charge of £30.

We can provide a fitness mat but you are very welcome to use your own. Just have a towel to hand….20 minutes might not seem a long time but you will work up a sweat!
EMS training is no more strenuous than a conventional workout. Depending on the intensity of the workout, you will need a short rest and a drink of water. The equipment uses low impulse frequency, the experience of receiving the impulses will only take a very short time to get used to and it is not painful in any way at all.
We recommend once or twice a week depending on your aims and activities in your daily life. Whilst EMS training will fast track your goals, you will achieve results even sooner if you supplement your sessions with other forms of fitness training. As with all training your progress will depend on how engaged you are with the workout.
EMS is perfect for complementing a wide range of sports. You can ask your trainer to target specific muscle areas depending on particular needs and objectives to help give you the upper hand. It will reach the deeper fibres in the muscle that are not easily reached through conventional exercise, developing muscles in a targeted manner.
After an EMS training session you should feel all the positive effects of having done a great, active workout. Your body is activated during the session and it lasts for a couple of days, during which your calorie burning will be higher than usual. You many experience some muscle soreness as with other sports; especially after the first session.
If you have to cancel / move your session and you provide us with more the 24 hours’ notice then we will not charge you and we will be delighted to rebook your session. Cancellations or requests to move your session within 24 hours of the appointment will unfortunately mean you lose the session if you have already paid. If you haven’t paid then we will send out an invoice. We will, of course, be happy to re-book for a later date.
As with any physical training (particularly if you are new to fitness) it is always best to seek the advice of a medical professional. There are some medical conditions where it may not be / isn’t appropriate to train with EMS:

  • Angina or heart condition (including being fitted with a pacemaker)
  • Cancer
  • Diabetes
  • Circulatory Disorders
  • Epilepsy
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Acute bacterial / viral infections
  • Abdominal wall or inguinal hernias
  • Advanced arteriosclerosis
  • Pregnancy

For some of the above conditions, it may still be possible to train but you must first obtain written permission from your Consultant / GP. If you are in any doubt please seek medical guidance in advance of your first session.
