As with any physical training (particularly if you are new to fitness) it is always best to seek the advice of a medical professional. There are some medical conditions where it may not be / isn’t appropriate to train with EMS:
- Angina or heart condition (including being fitted with a pacemaker)
- Circulatory Disorders
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Acute bacterial / viral infections
- Abdominal wall or inguinal hernias
- Advanced arteriosclerosis
For some of the above conditions, it may still be possible to train but you must first obtain written permission from your Consultant / GP. If you are in any doubt please seek medical guidance in advance of your first session.
